There is tremendous pressure being placed on the global fuel supply and the environment. Forecasts for New England show that generation resources will not be adequate to meet demand starting in 2010.  No significant generation has been built in the last 10 years.  The situation in New England is similar to that of the United States and many other parts of the world.

The cost of electricity has more than doubled over the past five years, and will continue to increase if alternative solutions are not found.
